Now that HTC and Samsung have unveiled and released their flagship Android devices, it’s now LG’s turn. As invites went out earlier this morning overseas, the G3 will be upon is sooner rather than later. Like May 27th to be exact. The launch will happen simultaneously in 6 cities around the world: NYC, London, San Francisco, Singapore, Istanbul, and Seoul.
Now you might say why should I get excited about this one?
- Well if the rumors hold true, we’ll be looking at our 1st 2K display on a smartphone. Sporting a 2560 x 1440 resolution on a 5.2 or 5.5inch display.
- If you hated LG’s custom Android skin, it’s about to get a whole lot better. Following HTC and Samsung’s approach to minimizing their skins, LG has done the same. It has a more minimal look to it and has a ‘Concierge’ widget similar to Google Now that you can add to the home screen.
- And lastly, the rear buttons are back. But they’re redesigned to have a more T-shaped look and take up less space.
So if you hated it before, maybe these changes will make you a believer.
