wwdc14-home-brandingWhile we still have about an entire month before it officially kicks off, 9to5Mac’s Mark Gurman got the scoop on what’s coming. His track record is notorious for a high accuracy so we can imagine all or at least most of his Intel to come into fruition.

Over the past few years, Mac OS X has been adding many designs + features from iOS. Its been predicted by some that the 2 would merge eventually – but whatever their future its not happening this year. Just getting a little closer though.

Don’t look for a new Apple TV or iWatch here.

The forthcoming OS X 10.10 codenamed Syrah, will offer more toggles borrowed from iOS 7 along with more White space, sharper window corners, and more. Expect to see Apple launch this new OS sometime in the fall.

shazam ios 8Moving on to iOS 8, we can expect to see updates to Siri, Maps, iCloud along with the arrival of apps like Healthbook, TextEdit, Preview, a standalone iTunes Radio app, Shazam integration & VoLTE support to the OS. Apple has already began working on an iOS 8.1 update. So its possible that some of these features could get pushed back to 8.1, later this year or early 2015.

So that’s about it. No matter what comes out of WWDC this year, don’t fret. There’s still plenty of time left in the year for more Apple announcements.
