While it didn’t get a full unveiling treatment we were expecting, we got something. The newest version of Android dubbed L got previewed today. From what we saw today L looks awesome. It appears to be offering a great new look to the overall Android experience.
Android L seems to be all about a card-based UI.
Google only shared a few new features coming to Android L like:
- L offers improved notifications that can be accessed/replied within the lockscreen.
- Improved battery life w/ Battery Saver mode.
- Web pages + recently opened apps get a stacked card look.
- Super-fast animations move at 60fps.
- Do Not Disturb mode
- Bluetooth 4.1
