Yesterday Verizon unveiled their initial details on what to expect from their HD Voice + VoLTE launch details. But there were still many unanswered questions about it. Luckily, the folks over at Droid-Life got a lot more details on the matter.
With Advanced Calling 1.0, how VZW will handle HD Voice + Video Calling as you will have the option to toggle it on or off. The devices supported by Verizon’s VoLTE services will only be the LG G2 and the Samsung Galaxy S5. Possible update maybe required as more devices will be announced over time.
In regards to the billing aspect, HD Voice will just count against your minutes but video calling will go against your data. VZW says a video call could take up 6-8MB of data so a 2-hour video call could knock out up to 1GB of data. So you might want to use Wi-Fi when you can.
So what do you guys think about VZW’s plans thus far?
