Just as we shared w/ you on Friday, yesterday GoPro made their Hero 4 line official. We spoke on 2 models then as there now is a 3rd one to speak on. We now have the 4K capable Hero 4 Black + Silver and the entry-level Hero.
The Hero 4 Black is offering 4K video @30fps along w/ 1080p @120fps and many other video formats. It will be priced at $499. Out on sale on October 5th.
The Hero 4 Silver approaches 4K camera in a different way. It offers touchscreen controls to trade in for high frame rates. The Silver can record 2.7K video @30fps, 1080p @60fps, and 720p @120fps.
Both the Black + Silver cameras have built-in Wi-Fi, shoot photos at 12MP, and are waterproof up to 131ft. It also goes on sale on October 5th.
Their new budget Hero camera is also waterproof up to 131ft and takes 5MP photos. It won’t offer the features from the other 2 cameras. It can shoot video in 1080p @30fps and in 720p @60fps. Priced at $129 and also is arriving on October 5th.
