Yesterday, we were able to attend Google's Lollipop showcase in NYC.  We were able to demo and check out all of their new goodies coming from Google.  This means the Nexus 6, the Nexus 9, and the Nexus Player.  Our focus, this time around is the Nexus 9.  While this is their 4th tablet after the Nexus 7, the high-end Nexus 10, and the 2nd-gen 7.  This is their new flagship tablet.

The Nexus 9 is in a good sweet spot in regards to size.  It is a 8.9inch slate that sits in-between the 7inch and 10inch tablet sizes.  It is premium-crafted by HTC but still feels like a Nexus.  The polycarbonate rear makes you feel at home - especially if you're coming from the Nexus 7.  Its big but still portable w/o feeling massive for a tablet.

The Nexus 9 creates a sweet spot you didn't know you needed.

If its HTC, you can expect an awesome display.  At 1st glance, they don't disappoint.  Sporting 8.9inches of an IPS screen w/ 2048 x 1536 resolution and a 4:3 aspect ratio.  Google + HTC made sure to equip it to better combat the iPads.

Powered by a 2.3GHz 64-bit NVIDIA's K1 CPU, it handles Lollipop on a big screen quite well.   But we will reserve judgment until we have more time w/ it.  I am curious to see what the tablet would run  like w/ high-end Snapdragon inside though.

While didn't go home w/ any of the keyboard accessories, they are quite nice.  One is an origami-style flip cover that folds into a stand.  And another is a magnetic keyboard cover that is impressive as well. It reminds me of something Logitech would make as I will be looking into acquiring one.  Be on the lookout for our review which should be up sometime next week.
