Blackish (Hulu)
If you haven't already started watching, now is a great time to start. Despite the colorful advertising for the show, it is really hilarious. This is a new take on a successful Black family in Cali. Anthony Anderson is a successful ad executive and Tracey Ellis Ross is a nurse both w/ 4 kids in a nice home in the suburbs. He struggles maintaining black values for him + his family w/ their upper class lifestyle. Lots of comedy ensues in the process.
Fresh Off The Boat (Hulu)
Another new show which just started after the holiday break is Fresh Off The Boat. This is a biographical comedy about owner of Boahaus restaurant Eddie Huang when he was 12 and his family moved from DC to Orlando for his dad to open his own restaurant. It is a hilarious display of culture shock as Eddie is immersed into hip-hop culture in 1995 w/ immigrant family and their culture clashes w/ the suburbs. There's only 4 episodes but its off to a great start.
