Today marks HTC’s 1st step into the world of wearables but not like you might think. At MWC, they unveiled why they decided to partner up w/ Under Armour for their new fitness tracker: the HTC ReGrip.
This looks like Nike FuelBand on steroids.
While its not the Android Wear device many of us were expecting although I’m sure that is still in the works. This is their GPS fitness tracker as it utilizes the UA Record system. It sports a 1.8inch OLED display + 90ppi. It will work w/ both Android + iOS as it is IP68 water-resistant.
It will work like many bands would by tracking your route, distance, pace, and calories burned. Utilizing 5 sensors to keep up w/ your workouts. With the GPS enabled, it touts a 5-hour battery life which should be fine and 2 and a half days w/o it on. Don’t look for a heart-rate monitor as they decided not to put one inside of it. Though it can support external ones via Bluetooth.
It has a matte Black finish and colors within the interior. With your choice of deep Teal or Lime colors. It will arrive in 3 sizes and should launch later this Spring for $200. AT&T has already claimed dibs on this one.
