Its Sunday night and the weekend is over. You know what is also over? Gaming convention PAX East 2015 was this weekend in Boston, MA. For those of you unaware, PAX is a conventions that kicks off 5 times a year in different locations throughout the US and Australia. This celebrates the culture of gaming, comics, anime, cosplay, and other hobbies.
This was our 1st time to PAX East and the the great town of Boston as well. We got a chance to enjoy some of the sight, sounds, and food of the city as well as all of the great games and cosplayers around in the BCEC. You had everything from card/board games, gaming tournaments, panels, concerts, and more.
While at PAX East, we did get a chance to see the latest from Alienware. We got to see the awesomeness of the Area 51 gaming desktop starting at $1,700. As you can stack this thing up w/ a Core i7 CPU, up to 16GB of RAM, Dual NVIDIA GeoForce GTX Titan Z GPU, and a 256GB SSD + 4TB HD.
They also had the chance to demo Dying Light on their Valve-powered Steam machine. The new Valve controller is very interesting to use. It took a while to get used to w/ their adapt to their dual trackpads w/ haptic feedback. But after playing it for like 5 mins I got the hang of it. It is an interesting approach to a game controller. Other than that, the controller layout is similar to the Xbox controller.
Good times.
