As we expound on our areas outside of consumer technology and have more to offer on our lifestyle side & cars section. No better way to do that being here. By here I mean the NYIAS.
Yup, the New York International Auto Show is upon us. We were able to attend the press previews for the Auto Show. We scoured as much as we could (as some of the newer vehicles have yet to be unveiled at this time). So we could show what's essential for you to see there.
Seemingly coming out of nowhere Lincoln has completely redesigned their flagship vehicle: the Continental. From the rims, the interior, and all of the way to the front grill. You got lovely carpet, polished metal, reclining rear seats, a desk w/ a built-in tablet. It is equipped w/ a 3.0-liter V6 EcoBoost twin turbo engine inside of this big car. When I say big car, it is pretty long - like Audi A8L long.
Its the prefect blend of retro + modern stylings.
This is definitely one of the best things at this year's Auto Show. At least in my opinion. Even though it is a concept, I'm sure based off the great reception it has received, I'm sure we'll see this or a vehicle similar make its way off of the production line.
Yup another CT from the Caddy company. This definitely goes up against and hand-in-hand w/ our number 1 vehicle or our list. Under the hood is a twin-turbo V6 engine capable of 400HP & 400lbs of torque. Cadillac made sure to beef up their infotainment system, Cue by making it faster on a 10.2inch touchscreen. As well as adding a touchpad for navigation w/ tactile response. Hell this even has a built Qi plate for wireless smartphone charging.
This is might be the season for bigger sedans. GM is leading the charge for a new breed of american luxury.
Ford's supercar gets another chance to make a better 1st impression. The previous GT was a bit too retro for some as this time they may have got it just right. The newest version offers a lightweight carbon fiber construction w/ rear-wheel drive, and a mid-mounted twin-turbocharged V6 engine touting over 600hp.
Showcasing Ford's best in technological performance and aerodynamics in their ultra-high performance super car. This will definitely turn some heads over in the Ford section in case nothing else doesn't.
4. The 2015 Toyota Camry Experience
This is a more interesting take on how Toyota plans to get more consumers to choose them over their competitors. You and up 3 of your friends/family are able to pile into a loaded 2015 Camry for a brief way to learn and experience all that it has to offer. Learn about its new adaptive cruise control, radar sensors, feel the power of its V6 engine throughout its small track as well as its reverse camera by speeding backwards. Make sure you check it out.
Jeep is out here making sure everyone knows how well their vehicles handle terrain. Camp Jeep is a rugged test track offering riding over planks, an 18ft, 35-degree mountain angle and more. You have a variety of their Jeeps on display, from the Renegade to the Rubicon. If you haven't experienced it yet, I would encourage you to do so.
There are plenty of honorable mentions like the Volkswagen Cross Coupe concept, the Buick Avenir, Acura NSX, Infiniti QX30, Hyundai Santa Cruz concept, Mercedes Benz GLE 450, the Rolls Royce Wraith, and plenty more.
The NYIAS kicks off today for the public and will go on until Sunday, April 12th. Make sure you swing by and check some things out. For more details on the 2015 NYIAS, visit here.
