While we’re still some ways out from Google I/O, there’s still more details coming out in regards to their upcoming cellular network. Their network won’t aim to contend w/ the big boys as it will be able to hand off between cellular + Wi-Fi networks.
The folks over at The Telegraph has some info on how Google intends to take on international roaming. Google has been talking w/ overseas wireless company Hutchison Whampoa (who owns 3 and about to own O2) about allowing US customers to roam on their networks for free. Allowing you to upload photos to the Gram (aka Instagram) or Facebook videos w/o getting hit w/ a huge international bill.
Even though it won’t be a competitor, it does look to offer some great innovative features no other major carrier is even close to. What do you guys think about it?
