Also unveiled at I/O was a new short film for Google’s Spotlight Stories app. This one is called HELP and it is directed by Justin Lin of the Fast & Furious franchise and stars Sung Kang who you might recognize as Han from Fast & Furious Tokyo Drift to Furious 7.
Lin teamed up w/ Google’s ATAP team to create this live-action film utilizing 4 Red 6K cameras in 1 rig to shoot this and offer a complete 360-degree immersive film experience w/ 3D sound when viewed w/ headphones. HELP is only 5 minutes long but definitely worth checking out for supported Android devices. Its a short film but weighs just as much as a full-length film at just under 1GB.
Make sure you download the Spotlight Stories app and then the film as it is only free for a limited time. Those of you on iOS will have to wait until Google brings the app to you guys. There are other short films available on the app as well like Windy Days & Duet so should check out too.
