Sony RX100Mk 4

Sony unveiled not just one or two but three new updates to their already powerful cameras on the market.  Introducing the new RX100 Mark 4, the RX10 Mark 2, and the A7R II.  These cameras were already in a class by themselves in regards to power & ability, Sony just made them damn-near unbeatable.

Sony gave the power of 4K video to other cameras in their lineup.

The RX100 Mk4 retains all of the good stuff that made it great like a 1inch 20MP CMOS sensor and Zeiss 24-70mm zoom lens.  But made sure to keep it fresh by adding new features like a better OLED viewfinder, the ability to shoot slow-motion @960fps, shoot stills up to 16fps, offer shutter speeds up to 1/32,000 of a second, powered by a new Exmor RS chip (that utilizes a new CPU & RAM) that allows for 4K video (yes, 4K) up to 5minutes.  This will be the official YouTuber/vlogger new go-to camera.

Sony RX10 2

Moving onto the RX10, the handheld shooter w/ superzoom lens is now even better.  It now shares the same new Exmor sensor & shooting abilities like slow-motion and 4K video as on the pocket-sized RX100.  It sports an XGA OLED viewfinder as the body is water + dust resistant, and has a 24-200mm f/2.8 lens on board.  4K and a superzoom camera might just be a match made in heaven.

Sony A7R II

And lastly, Sony made sure to beef up the full-frame mirrorless beauty as well w/ the A7R II.  This is the biggest beast of the mirrorless cameras in Sony’s stable.  The new version of the A7R starts w/ a new 42.4MP backside illuminated CMOS sensor that shoots up to ISO 102,400, 399 focal plane phase detection points for autofocus, Silent Shooting mode which should reduce the camera shutter noise when shooting, 5-axis image stabilization system, and can record video in 4K.

You will be able to order the RX100 Mk4 ($1,000) & RX10 Mk2 ($1,300) on June 17th while the A7R II goes on sale in August for $3,200.
