Now that Google has gone first, it's now time to shift gears into all things Apple.  We're only a few days away from Apple's big developer conference as they hopefully clear up many of the rumors floating around on what we can expect from them.  The focus is said to be on the next version of iOS w/ much speculation deriving from that.  We know Mac OS will get a new update and we expect to hear more about Watch apps, HomeKit, and their new music streaming service.

Let's get a bit more in depth on these rumors & speculation, shall we?

Apple's Music Streaming Service

After acquiring Beats Music last year, we're all curious to see exactly what Apple does w/ the service.  Or more so how they will incorporate it into iOS.  It will be cheaper at only $10 per month, offer unlimited music, and looking position big names like Drake & Pharrell as music curators.  There's even talks of the app possibly making its way to Android as well.  Hopefully we'll get everything about it in full detail next week.

Maps Adds Public Transit Support

While many iOS users don't even acknowledge or even use Apple Maps, that doesn't mean that they aren't trying to improve on it.  Word is that Apple is looking to finally add something that has been missing from their mapping solutions.  And that is support for public transportation.  So if you're looking to get around via bus or train, you can now use their native mapping solution.

Although this is a  refinement year for Apple, we still may see some big changes/features for iOS.

Split-Screen Multitasking On iPads

We have been talking about the iPads getting a split-screen feature added to the mix and it looks like it is finally coming into fruition.  This could boost iPad productivity w/ some split screen action.  This could also support the hopes of a 12.9inch iPad Pro finally on the way.

Making Siri More Useful

Apple may have kicked things off w/ the whole virtual assistant thing w/ Siri but its not as useful as it could or as other services.   This year Apple may beef up Siri's abilities as a thing called Proactive to be more than just a comical/sarcastic assistant.  Apple wants to combat Google Now w/ a more predictive feature in regards to your information.  Like pulling up your relevant calendar details coming up, weather info, contacts, and more.  I am actually interested to see Apple's take on it

We did hear that Force Touch support is set to arrive on future iOS devices but we may not hear much about it until September.

Apple Watch Apps

Since this is about software, we should hope to hear more about apps for the Apple Watch.  Developers should get access to creating native Watch apps, especially ones that will access the sensors, digital crown, & force touch.  There are a few Watch apps in the App Store right now but no real breakout one to make the Apple Watch a must-buy.

New OS X

OS X Yosemite lead

Not much is really known about any new features headed to the version of Mac OS.  We can only expect it to offer more refinement while beefing up other features.  The full merger between iOS & Mac OS is pretty much still on hold but probably still scheduled for sometime in their pipeline.  For now, we may have to settle for a new Control Center like on iOS to access quick setting w/o going into System Preferences.  Other than that, we should expect to see more fixes & improvements to the native features like Continuity and more.

HomeKit

homekit

Every company wants to get in on the smart home.  Google just announced their Internet of Things software.  Apple announced their solution for last year at WWDC called HomeKit.  Its been pretty quiet since then but recently just got some products on the market that actually supports the software.  This could lead to more along w/ a new Home app on iOS as well.  I'm sure they'll spend some sort of time on Monday.

Previous rumors pegged their new Apple TV and their TV streaming service would arrive but have been pushed back according to reports from earlier this week. While we won't be there live, we will let you all know everything that gets officially unveiled there.
