oneplus2 invites
We’re now about 2 weeks away from the official unveiling for the OnePlus 2.  Unfortunately that does mean the return of their invite system but that may not be bad news entirely.  For starters, the new invite system will involve the cards you see above.  But that’s not part of the real changes here.

Last year, the invite system was a little sketchy due to inventory and not predicting how the public would receive the OnePlus One.  This year, they’re more aware of the love the public has shown them despite a few marketing faux pas last year.  So this year, they’re talking about having more inventory and more invites to match.  Like 30 -50 times that of what they had last year.  So this should definitely help getting one a lot easier this time around.

There will also be a reservation list where you will be able to enter your email to be added to the list.   As soon as invites become available, you’ll get one.  This method beats waiting for a friend of yours to send you an invite.  BTW, those who frequent the OnePlus forum will get 1st dibs.

Speaking of waiting for friends to hook you up w/ an invite, this year OnePlus is offering sharable invites a lot faster than last year.   How much faster exactly?  We’re not quite sure as we’ll have to wait and see.

So that’s about it for now.  No massive changes but hopefully it should make getting one a lot easier & faster than last year.  They should add an line-skipping method for those who already purchased last year’s model though but that’s just me.  The OnePlus 2 is coming the last week of July and so far we know it will have 4GB of RAM, fast fingerprint sensor, a 3300 mAh battery, USB Type-C port, powered by a Snapdragon 810 CPU – priced at under $450.
