iPhone 6 6 Plus liveAt this point in time, we’re all pretty much aware of the inclusion of Force Touch making its way to the next new S line of iPhones.  There has been speculation on how it might work but now we have a more clearer picture, thanks to the folks over at 9to5Mac.

Force Touch will be a power user’s best friend.

Don’t expect for Apple to be lazy and utilize it the same way as on the Apple Watch.   Think of it as more of a shortcut button allowing you to skip several steps w/ a long press.  Depending on where you utilize it,  Force Touch will do different things based on where you use it.

9to5Mac also provided examples of how you would use this new feature like in Maps.  A Force Touch would allow you to start turn-by-turn navigation instead of searching for a point of interest 1st like you would have to do now.  In Music, this would mimic a right-click on your desktop allowing you to save offline or add a song to playlist.

Its not quite clear yet as why Force Touch would be needed but I’m sure more details will come light before the iPhone event in September.
