Earlier today, Google announced a huge shakeup for the company. Google gets a new parent company as it expands. It is now a part of a collection of companies called Alphabet. Under Alphabet, you have Google, Life Sciences, Calico, X labs, Ventures, Capital, & Wing. Also, Sundar Pichai is now the new CEO of Google. Former Google CEO Larry Page is now the CEO of Alphabet and Sergey Brin is Alphabet’s president.
Google now has a parent company.
The inception of Alphabet comes from Google’s acquisition of companies that don’t really make sense under the Google name – which was created to collect all info of the web. So w/ Alphabet, having a company that works on glucose-sensing contact lens, extending of life, investments, drones, and so forth.
