The folks over at Dolby are doing some amazing things in the name of movie theater experience. Last week, they announced that 5 new films are coming to their premium cinema theaters.
All of the major Hollywood studios from Disney, Paramount, Sony, Fox, Universal. Lionsgate, and Warner Bros. are now in complete on board. This means that they pretty much have all of Hollywood behind them in support for their Dolby Cinemas.
For the uninitiated, Dolby is truly the best way to experience the cinema at the movies. Dolby Cinema is a combination of their products: Vision (wall-to-ceiling screen w/ laser projectors for better images) & Atmos (multi-speaker setup on the walls & ceilings complete immersive sound).
The new titles are The Perfect Guy which just came out this weekend, Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials, The Martian, Pan, and In The Heart Of The Sea. You also have several up-and-coming titles that will support it as well like Everest, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay- Part 2, and The Jungle Book. Previous support titles were Inside Out, Mission Impossible – Rogue nation, Tomorrowland, Pixels, & San Andreas. Which brings us to a total of 13 titles on board since its official launch in 2015.
We have been fortunate enough to watch several movies at the Dolby Labs in NYC like Guardians Of The Galaxy, Transcendence, Ant-Man, and more. So if you have yet to experience any type of Dolby products, I recommend you do so. Below is a list of AMC theaters that offer Dolby Cinema for you.
