Revealed at Google’s Nexus event today, is the return of the fan-favorite – sort of.  Say hello to the new-and-improved Nexus 5 in the form of the  Nexus 5X.  This is the more affordable of the 2 Nexus devices we expect to see today.

The Nexus favorite has returned.

Everything pretty much matches w/ the leaks in regards to specs & features for it.  We’re looking at a 5.2inch 1080p LCD display w/ 424ppi + fingerprint/smudge resistant coating, powered by a 64-bit hexa-core 2GHz Snapdragon 808 CPU, 2GB of RAM, running Android 6.0 Marshmallow (obviously), charges via USB-C, a fingerprint scanner called Nexus Imprint, and a choice of 16GB/32GB of internal storage.

On the camera side of things, we looking at a f/2.0 12.3MP rear-facing camera w/ laser-guided auto-focus, dual flash, and capable of shooting 4K @340fps.  The front-facing shooter offers a f/2.2 5MP shooter.  Coupled w/ the new Google Camera app, these shooters are said to be better at taking in more light.

The Nexus 5X starts at $379 as pre-orders start today and will being shipping later in October.  It will be unlocked & work w/ all networks as well as Project Fi.  This will also include $50 Google Play credit, and a 90-day free trial of Google Play Music.  Definitely looking forward to getting my hands on this one as well as the bigger one. What’re your thoughts on it?
