ILCE-7SM2_wFE2470Z_rightAs Sony is going through a revamp period where all of their shooters are getting updated, one got left behind – until now.  Say hello to the new-and-improved Sony A7s II.  Looks like Sony went back an fixed all of things many of you had gripes about.

The camera that shoots in the dark just got a lot better.

The A7s II still retains its 12.2MP full-frame sensor that can has an ISO range of 50-409,600 as everything else got beefed up.  Thanks to its new BIONZ X CPU you can now record full-frame 4K video internally @24 or 20fps w/ a full pixel readout & no pixel binning.  Which means you’ll get sharper 4K video w/ no jagged edges.

Also new is the inclusion of 5-axis image stabilization to offer better photos/videos when capturing night scenes or utilizing telephoto lenses.  It can record video in XAVC S codec at 100MB per second and shoot 120fps in 1080p.  It has 14 stops of dynamic range thanks to the new S-log3 shooting mode.  Silent mode allows you to shoot at 5fps, you have 169 auto focus points, and a new OLED viewfinder w/ 0.78 magnification.

The new A7S is going to be an even better dream for videographers.  But this one ain’t for the cheap as it will set you back $3,000 as it will arrive in Europe sometime in November.  We expect it to land in the US shortly there after.
