For those of you who already got your Nexus 5X and are a Verizon subscriber, we got just the tip for you. Yes, both Nexus devices work on Verizon. Want to make use of the Wi-Fi hotspot feature but don’t want to pay the extra fee to access it? We can get you there in just a few short and easy steps. The only thing you’ll need is a SIM tool to make this happen.
- Use a SIM tool to pop out the SIM card but not all of the way. Just enough so the phone can’t read it.
- Push the SIM card back in and wait 5 seconds.
- Then turn the Wi-Fi hotspot toggle On and you’re good to go.
That’s it! We told you it was short and easy. Now you can utilize the Hotspot feature w/o having to pay additional charges for it on your 5X. This method also applies to AT&T customers as well. If you need to see the visuals, check out the video below
