HP was definitely inspired by Microsoft's Surface on this one but didn't want to make a complete carbon copy of it. Meet the HP Spectre x2: a better take on the modern day 2-in-1/convertible PC w/ their own unique spin on it.
The Spectre x2 is a super thin device weighing in at 1.78lbs & 8mm thin by itself and 2.69lbs w/ the keyboard. It has a 12inch 1920 x 1280 resolution display, powered by Intel Core M CPUs, 4GB or 8GB of RAM, choice of 128GB/256GB/512GB SSD, 3 cameras: 8MP on the rear and a 5MP along w/ an Intel RealSense 3D cameras on the front, 4 speakers w/ 2 on the tablet & 2 on the keyboard w/ Bang & Olufsen, microSd card slot, 2 USB-C ports, HDMI port, and a 10-hour battery life.
Now more about the actual hardware. The keyboard attaches via magnetically as it has an aluminum backlit keys. HP utilizes a unique U-shaped 3.5mm stainless steel kickstand design w/ a friction hinge to offer more battery inside. It offers built-in LTE support provided by Verizon and stylus support.
It isn't as powerful as the Surface but it is still a premium PC that's more affordable. The Spectre x2 goes on sale November 8th starting at $799.99.
