And finishing things off today, Microsoft unveiled a new product as part fo their Surface line. Introducing the Surface Book laptop: the 1st laptop built by Microsoft themselves. It is made to be the ultimate laptop as it is super-versatile to handle any situation or need.
This might be the best thing we’ve seen from Microsoft since – forever.
It can be utilized as a standard laptop, but it also has a flexible hinge so it can be used as a convertible, and the screen can be detached to utilize the screen as a tablet. While detached it works like a keyboard-less Surface as it supports the Surface pen as well. This is pretty dope if I do say so myself.
The Surface Book has a 13.5inch display w/ 267ppi, powered by a the newest Intel Core i5 & Core i7 CPUs, a NVIDIA GeForce GPU on the base (so it will have to be docked to make use of it), 12-hours of battery life on a single charge, backlit but near-silent keyboard, a glass trackpad w/ 5 points of sensitivity, 2 USB 3.0 ports and a SD card slot. Microsoft claims it to be the fastest 13inch laptop on the market – even twice as fast as the MacBook Pro.
The Surface Book starts at $1499 and goes on sale October 26th w/ pre-orders kicking off tomorrow.
