HP was looking to offer a great tablet experience and they may have found it. No, its not an Android-powered one but a slate running Windows. Introducing the HP Envy Note 8: a super thin & lightweight tablet offering the full power of Windows 10.
The Envy Note 8 is only 7.7mm thick & weighing 0.8lbs, it offers an 8inch 1080p display w/ 1920 x 1200 resolution + Gorilla Glass 3, powered by an Intel Atom x5 CPU, battery life of up to 6 and a half hours, dual cameras (5MP on the rear + 2MP in the front), audio powered by a Bang & Olufsen, microSD card slot, and an option for LTE via Verizon as well as Wi-Fi. This thing also has an array of sensors inside as well like GPS, accelerometer, ambient light, proximity, hall, gyroscope, barometer, and a eCompass.
On the software side of things, it runs Windows 10 in both tablet and desktop modes. You also have HP Instant Note which integrates w/ OneNote and Notes Hub which acts as a timeline view to access content (like webpage links, screenshots, etc) & calendar events.
It comes w/ HP Active Pen - which is their stylus that is pressure sensitive, highly accurate w/ a 2mm tip. It is bundled w/ a full-sized aluminum keyboard called the HP Envy Keyboard Folio. It offers the ability to dock the slate horizontally & vertically and offers a place to put their stylus. Users can place the tablet on the back of the keyboard to carry it as one package.
The Envy Note 8 hits stores on November 8th w/ the stylus for $329 and you can get ti w/ the stylus + keyboard for $429.
