Back at Google I/O, Google talked about giving Google Maps offline abilities before the end of the year. That day has officially arrived. Google is looking to help out those in the world where 60% of the planet is still missing the power of the internet.
Now Maps can offer offline navigation by the means of downloading a map ahead fo time which includes turn-by-turn navigation as well as the option to search for places w/ important info about them. This is awesome news as you cna use this feature if you’re travelling in places w/ spotty cell coverage as well.
The new update will begin rolling out today for Google Maps for Android as it will arrive to iOS sometime at a later day.
