Looks like Google might be working on another surprise set to launch later this year. There were talks of Google’s Carboard being just the 1st step into VR and according to the latest report from the Financial Times, the next step is on the way.
The report suggests that Google is hard at work on a new updated VR headset similar to Samsung’s Gear VR. The new headset is said to have a plastic design w/ built-in sensors, and new lenses to make it more of a fully equipped headset. The headset is said to possibly require new Android VR software which will be integrated into the Android OS. The new VR headset is supposed to reduce nausea along w/ 3rd-party developers support. No word on whether or not if this new device will offer iPhone support.
This sounds to be a pretty good step 2 for Google’s VR efforts. We may actually see more details or an actual announcement for Google I/O in May. What’re your thoughts on it?
