After all of the leaks, rumors, reports, and such; the HTC 10 is officially here and made official!  HTC took their time to create this one as it is an obvious departure from their flagships of previous years.  Time to dive into all of the new bells & whistles to see what the new HTC 10 is all about.

The Revenge Of HTC

Crafted from aluminum + beveled edges it is made to handle scratches, bumps, drops, etc.  The HTC 10 is reminiscent of a mesh of the HTC One M7 and the One A9.  All while retaining a sleek, unibody package.  It touts a 5.2inch QHD Super LCD 3 display w/ 564ppi, powered by a 2.2GHz 64-bit Snapdragon 820 CPU, 4GB of RAM, choice of 32GB or 64GB of storage expandable up to 2TB via microSD, a 3000 mAh battery w/ Quick Charge 3.0, USB-C, fingerprint scanner, and NFC.

Now onto the part everyone wants to know about, the camera side of things.  On the rear, you have a f/1.8 12MP Ultrapixel 2 w/ dual LED flash + 2nd-gen laser autofocus system.  Ultrapixel 2 offers a bigger microns to offers better low light photos as it is the same sensor used in the Nexus 6P.  You can also record 4K video w/ 24-bit high-resolution audio.  On the front, we have a f/1.8 5MP wideangle sensor w/ OIS for better low-light selfies.

On the audio side of things, HTC did some changes w/ their well-known dual front-facing stereo speaker aka BoomSound.  They moved most of the aufio features internally for headphones so on the outside you have a bass speaker at the boom w/ a Tweeter on the top.  You’ll be able to pump out Hi-Fi audio, hi-resolution audio stero recording, and 3 mics w/ noise cancellation.  The HTC 10 is also the 1st device to support Apple’s AirPlay streaming for audio.  Some of you might like it or hate it.

And on the software side of things, HTC worked w/ Google closely this time around.   There is more of a Material Design look involved this time around.  Maybe hinting at the HTC handling the Nexus devices this year.  There is a lot of less HTC software as the HTC 10 utilizes many of the Google apps for their default ones.  Like Google Calendar, Google Photos, and more.  You’ll still have HTC’s Email, Messaging, & Camera apps are still present.

The HTC 10 will arrive sometime next month for $699 in 2 colors: Black & Silver w/ a Gold color coming later.  The unlocked version can be purchased today and coming to Sprint, T-Mobile, & Verizon.  For some reason, AT&T won’t be offering the device or maybe coming at a later time/date.  Let us know what’re your thoughts about the newest from HTC.
