samsung family hub fridgeYesterday, Samsung held an event to officially launch their Family Hub smart fridge to the masses.  It was originally unveiled back at CES as it is now available for purchase.  But there’s more to this fridge than just a giant 21.5inch touchscreen onboard.

It does all of the things a normal fridge would do in regards to keeping your food from spoiling and such.  You got an ice maker and a custom cooling system w/ triple cooling zones that you can use as a freezer or for wine.  Now back to the touchscreen, it is powered by Tizen software w/ the standard Home, Menu, & Back buttons.

With it, you have an app for doodling notes + drawings, voice memos, TV mirroring as long as its on they’re on the same Wi-Fi network, listen to music via Pandora + TuneIn Radio thanks to their speakers embedded on the doors, and cameras to look inside of the fridge w/o having to open the door.

This biggest selling point is the fact that you can order groceries from Fresh Direct or Shop Rite directly to your door.  This is part of a new feature called Groceries by MasterCard that acts like a big phone app that can be synced to your smartphone.

If you got an extra $5,800 to spare, this can be in your home.
