Huawei’s Honor brand is on quite a roll this year. Earlier this year w/ the 5X and now we have the Honor 8. The device has already been out in China for a while as it now makes its way to the US. This is definitely step-up from the 5X in just about every way.
The entire frame will offer a refined dual-sided glass surface. Utilizing a 5.2inch 1080p display, powered by Huawei’s quad-core Kirin CPU, 4GB of RAM, 32GB/64GB of storage expandable via microSD up to 128GB, running Android 6.0 w/ EMUI 4.1, a USB-C, fingerprint scanner on the rear that doubles as a customizable smart key, and a 3000 mAh battery.
Borrowed from their P9 smartphone, the Honor 8 sports a f/2.2 12MP dual lens setup (monchrome + color) w/ dual LED flash + laser auto-focus for its rear shooters. No 4K video but it can shoot 1080p @120fps. On the front, you have a f/2.4 8MP shooter for selfies and such.
You will have the color options of Pearl White, Sapphire Blue, & Midnight Black. The Honor 8 will go on sale on August 26th for $399 for the 32GB & $449 for the 64GB model. It will become available in other retailers like Amazon, B&H, Best Buy, & New Egg later.
