We are just about a week out from the big Google event but that doesn’t mean that more details won’t come to light in-between now and then. Late afternoon on Friday, the folks over at Android Police got some big scoops on more things to expect.
For starters, we’re gonna see Google Home: their smart Wi-Fi speaker to combat Amazon’s Echo. We now have a suggested price point for it. It is said to have a $129 price tag for it making it slightly cheaper than the Echo by like $40.
Next up, we have the official name & pricing for their 4K-enabled Chromecast. Make way for the Chromecast Ultra as its name as it will allegedly have a $69 price tag on it. No exact wording on if it will offer HDR support along w/ 4K or not.
And the last surprise, Google is said to unveil a new type of home router like Eero. It is said to be designed to add multiple units can be linked together to create a mesh network. It is said to have a $129 price tag on it as well. We’re not sure on if it will carry the OnHub brand or will they start something new.
All of this along w/ the new HTC-crafted Pixel & Pixel XL smartphones. Looks like Google will be shaping this up to be one of their bigger events in quite some time.
