The Galaxy Note 7 has been a complete and utter mess. The launch was fine but several cases of exploding batteries (real & exaggerated) have left a bit of a stain of the brand. They’ve done a recall to handle it – which was done pretty well in my opinion. But now hearing the reports of replacement Note 7 devices still exploding is a disaster.
It’s so bad to the point that now AT&T, T-Mobile, & Verizon has all suspended sales for the device. It’s only a matter of time before Sprint gets onboard. At the time of writing this, Sprint is offering customer exchanges. I guess at this point, you probably won’t see a review on it from us as the odds of getting a review unit. Oh well.
While I don’t think Samsung as a brand or the Galaxy Note as a name will hurt too much after all of this. But for this particular Note 7, Samsung may want to consider this a wash at this point. If they haven’t yet, they might want to pull the plug and shift focus to the Note 8.
Has Samsung lost you as a customer or you just mad you can’t get one?
Update:
Samsung just officially announced the stop of all sales for the Galaxy Note 7. They recommend owners to power down your device and return it for a refund. There you have it. The official nail in the coffin. Folks, don’t try to save it as a collectible. Be safe and just return it.
