Earlier this morning, Google unveiled a big update to Android Auto that will bring the software up to v2.0. The new update brings forth the features to arrive in a standalone app for smartphones. Why might you ask? This is made to bring the experience to others w/ an in-car Bluetooth support but lacking a large display.
It will work similar to the original setup where you get inside your vehicle w/ Bluetooth on and Android Auto will begin. It will support native apps like Google Music, Google Maps, sending/reading messaging via Hangouts, as well as apps like Spotify, Pocket Casts, WhatsApp, Pandora, and many more.
The update will begin rolling out over the next few days in over 30 countries so keep your eyes out for it.
