Looks like the wait is finally over. After a short delay, it looks like the 2nd-version of Google’s Android Wear software is coming to all next month. Android Wear 2.0 was delayed back in September to tighten up the issues present on the developer previews.
Version 2.0 brings forth a new UI, newer interactive watch faces, a watch app store, and new input features like smart reply, handwriting, and a keyboard for the most part. Along w/ a bunch of others fixes and such. There is also word of Google releasing their own flagship smartwatches to go along w/ the launch not under the Pixel or Google name.
Good news is that most of the smartwatches released last year will support Android Wear 2.0 but most watches released before then may get cut off. We don’t have a current date of exactly when in February we can expect it but we should get more info over the next few weeks.
