For those of you who don’t know, Tesla’s 1st vehicle was their electric roadster. It came out back in 2008 and it had a range of around 200 miles & sold just over 2200 vehicles. It was the company’s stepping stone to lead them to the Model S.
Last night along w/ their Semi Truck, Tesla revealed the 2nd-generation Roadster powered w/ all of the most recent tech & the speed to possibly be the one of the most faster production cars on the market. It is capable of 0-60 mph in 1.9 seconds, 0-100 mph in 4.2 seconds, 1/4 mile in 8.8 seconds, 620 mile-range and a top speed of over 250 mph. All while still being able to seat 4 passengers & still have a trunk. This is capable thanks to its 200kWh battery pack inside, all-wheel drive, torque steering, and 3 motors (1 in the front + 2 in the rear).
But don’t get too excited as production isn’t set to start until 2020 (possible later). However, Tesla is taking reservations of $50,000 towards your Roadster purchase. It will have a base price of $200,000 and going up from there.
So who got the need for speed? And $50K to procure their new Roadster?
