Moving along the Apple software show is tvOS for the Apple TV. Now we’re not getting new hardware or a ton of new software features but we’re getting notable ones that people have been asking for.
- You can now watch live sports and news via the TV app.
- Apple TV 4K gets support for both Dolby Atmos & Dolby Vision. This will give any 4K video/movie you own, a free upgrade to Atmos for free.
- Apple is teaming up w/ Charter Spectrum, to give users access to live channels and on-demand content from them.
- Users will get access to zero sign-on so when you connect to a cable provider’s broadband, it will automatically log in to all of your connected cable apps w/o asking for a password.
- Apple TV will recognize panoramic screensavers to give you the ability to swipe through it completely. They’re also teaming up w/ NASA to bring you new panoramic screensavers shot from the International Space Station.
So there you have it. The tvOS is coming this fall along w/ the other updates. If you haven’t upgraded to the 4K version of Apple TV, now i the perfect time.
