And the final piece of the WWDC software puzzle is the macOS update. More specifically macOS Mojave coming to all Macs. Like on iOS 12, we get more useful features rather than an abundance of them that may not be worth the while.
- Mojave adds a dark mode to all of the native Mac apps like Mail, Messages, Maps, Calendar & Photos as well as the ability to switch between light & dark modes. Mojave also features a new Dynamic Desktop that automatically changes the desktop picture to match the time of day.
- Stacks allow you to better organize a cluttered desktop by stacking the same type of files into a neat pile. You can customize the Stacks based on date & tags as well.
- Finder gets an update to show off a new Gallery view to skim through files visually.
- The Continuity Camera allows you to share photos taken from your iPhone to a document on your Mac.
- A new & easier way to do screenshots (from the web & natively) as well as quick access to markup tools.
- Group FaceTime that supports up to 32 people arrives to the Mac as well.
- The Mac App Store gets a new look & way to navigate through it.
- Apps like News, Stocks, Voice Memos and Home are coming to the Mac for the 1st time.
- New privacy & security measures arrive for it as well.
We have a developer preview of Mojave available right now while the official version drops this fall. Cool to see Apple further adding worthwhile features and making the Mac & iPhone work more seamlessly together. I may actually download this version of macOS rather than skip it like I did w/ High Sierra. How about you?
