According to the folks over at Android Police, LG is no longer satisfied w/ the standard 3 cameras (2 in the back & 1 on the front) on their smartphones.  They’re looking to add up to 5 cameras for their upcoming V40 flagship later this year.

It would be similar to the Huawei P20 Pro w/ 3 shooters on the rear.  So it will have the standard LG lense & super wide lens, while the 3rd one might be optical zoom or even monochrome.  Meanwhile, the 2 shooters in the front would offer some sort of 3-D mapping for facial recognition.  This would better justify having the notch on board which will be present again BTW.

So, for the most part, it will be a beefed up G7 w/ maybe more glass, Snapdragon 845 CPU, Quad DAC, dedicated Google Assistant button, and more.  So having 3 on the rear & 2 on the front doesn’t make 5 cameras on a phone don’t sound as crazy as it does initially.

If this is would we’re in store for the V40, who’s interested?
