Yesterday, Google announced/released their 3rd beta for their upcoming version of their mobile software: Android P.  Now keep in mind, this is the 3rd public beta & 4th developer preview so we’re all on the same page.

So far there’s a lot of minor tweaks and no big features making its way yet.  So we see a new Back button, small changes within the notification shade, Dark theme option in Settings, larger cards in the app switcher, and separate call volume to name a few of the changes.

Android P is supposed to be done by fall so we’re expecting one more beta before the actual final build rolls out.  This 3rd beta should be more stable.  I haven’t had any real issues w/ it as I have been using this on my main phone since beta 1.  If you’re curious to check it out, you can sign up for the beta which will send you the file OTA here.

Also, the Android engineering team will host an AMA on Reddit (r/androiddev) to answer your questions about Android P on 7/19 from 11:30AM – 1 PM (PST).
