We’re a little over a month away from the big unveil for the Galaxy Note 9 but we’re already getting some details on what new tricks it could have up its sleeves.  According to FCC findings from the folks over at Droid-Life, we’re starting to know why the S-Pen is the focus of invite.

The FCC files pretty much confirm that the new S-Pen will offer Bluetooth abilities via the button on the stylus.  This could lead to things like controlling music, taking photos, start/stop timers, answer/hang-up calls, activate Bixby, location-tracking for finding your misplaced stylus, and more.

This isn’t the first time Samsung made a Bluetooth-powered stylus.  They made it an accessory w/ the Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet (released August 2012) that allowed you to take phone calls w/ the S-Pen.  Yes, it is as weird as it sounds.

As we get closer to August 9th, I’m sure more details will come to light.  Whatever the case, we will be in attendance to let you know all that is revealed.  What’re your thoughts on the S-Pen having Bluetooth features coming?
