Kicking off things at the Apple’s iPhone event isn’t the phone but their latest smartwatch.  Say hello to the new & improved Apple Watch or Apple Watch Series 4 as it officially called.  This is their 1st redesign of the smartwatch since its inception over 3 years ago.

The new look brings forth a larger display that’s now damn-near edge-to-edge and 30% larger.  This will allow watchOS5 to show off more complications & info on the watchface.  Speaking of watchOS5, it will bring a new UI to show off apps like photos, maps, & calendar to offer up to 8 complications.  The new digital crown now offers haptic feedback as the LTE red dot is now just a ring.  The rear of the watch is now black ceramic w/ a sapphire crystal display.

Inside you got a new Apple’s own dual-core 64-bit S4 CPU to beef up the overall performance.  Giving you 2x better performance than older Apple Watches.  There is also an ECG (electrocardiogram) monitor inside to properly measure heart rhythm for any issues.  You will be able to access it via an app by hitting the digital crown to turn on the ECG.  It can also detect falls to call emergency services if you’re unresponsive.  The Series 4 also adds a new accelerometer & gyroscope inside as well.

The Series 4 Watch will be available next week on September 17th as the GPS + Wi-Fi model will be $399 and the GPS + LTE model will cost $499.
