The iPhone changed the phone industry last year w/ the iPhone X - for better or worse. Apple introduced the world to phones w/ a notch and the rest of the industry followed. Whether it required a notch or not. Enter 2018 as we embark into new iPhones as the notch remains but now w/ more sizes other than one.
Apple's iPhone event is almost upon us as it happens on September 12th. Time to recap all of the related news & rumors to give you an idea of what to expect. In regards to what to expect from the new iPhone:
- Both of the 5.8inch OLED + 6.5inch OLED iPhones will rock the XS line
so don't look for an XS & XS PlusAlthough we're now hearing that the 6.5inch model will be called the iPhone XS Max. - The 6.1inch LCD iPhone is a bit of a mystery
in regards to what it will have or won't have compared to the XS or even a name. I'm thinking it will be called the iPhone 9 but what do I know. But recently, the reports may have offered a name w/ the iPhone XR w/ a single rear camera. - Powered by Apple's more powerful A12 CPU for faster performance & better battery life.
- The cameras will offer new upgrades & performance.
- Running iOS 12
- Expect USB-C charging cables/bricks w/ your 2018 iPhone
- Colors: Silver, Space Gray, & Gold for the iPhone XS. The 6.2inch is said to come in grey, white, blue, red and orange options.
- Pricing for the new iPhones is rumored to be $799 for the 5.8inch and $999 for the 6.5inch. As far as the 6.1inch LCD iPhone, we can only assume it will offer a $699 price tag.
Moving on to the new 2018 Apple smartwatch or the Apple Watch Series 4. We're expecting a new tweak in their design. The Series 4 will offer a larger display w/ a possible 384 x 480 resolution + smaller bezels that shows off more info on your watch face as the photo above shows off 9 different complications.
We also see the new look for their LTE model as instead of a Red dot, we'll see a Red ring on the crown. Other than that, we don't know what other hardware features or what new tricks will come w/ the new version of watchOS.
That's what we know is coming but there are others items that could possibly be on the docket as well. We're expecting a new iPad Pro that beefs up the internals a bit and adds Face ID support into the mix.
We heard rumblings of Apple working on a new Retina MacBook Air and pro version of the Mac Mini. But we''re not sure if that will all be unveiled here or at a separate Apple event.
The Apple iPhone event is happening on September 12th at 10AM PST/1PM EST. You'll be able to watch on your Apple device or on Apple's site to catch all of the news live.
