After being accidentally sold early at Best Buy, we already saw a sneak preview of the 3rd-generation Chromecast streaming dongle.  This $35 dongle is a minor yet powerful refresh.

It looks a bit thicker than the previous model as it now offers a smooth, matte finish w/the ‘G’ logo replacing the Chrome logo, and adds audio support into the mix.  So no more need for a Chromecast audio as this one does it all.  It will support the new Live Albums within the new Home app as well.

Along w/ that, you got faster Wi-Fi speeds to support 1080p video @60fps and a Black or White color option.  No USB-C yet it’s still a micro USB port on board.  No 4K abilities as you would still need the Chromecast Ultra for that.

You can grab one right now at the Google Store for the same price as before.
