Adding to the list of devices launching in October is the new Huawei Mate 20 Pro.  Huawei made sure that this one has the top of the line specs as well as some new technologies behind it as well.   The Mate 20 Pro is definitely looking to top their Mate 10 series.

Huawei is definitely looking to impress the masses w/ the Mate 20 Pro’s features & abilities.

So you have a large 6.3inch QHD OLED HDR10 display w/ 3120 x 1440 resolution + 19:5:9 aspect ratio + a notch (for facial recognition), powered by their latest octa-core Kirin 980 CPU, 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage expandable via nano-memory card, IP68 dust/water-resistant body, running EMUI 9 on top of Android 9 Pie (which adds DeX-like features as well as turn your phone into a projector), and a massive 4200 mAh battery w/ wireless charging.

The security measures on the Mate 20 Pro are a first w/ the in-display fingerprint reader (beating OnePlus 6T to the punch) coupled w/ a facial recognition as well.  The notch on here is a useful one as it offers a 24MP camera w/ dot projector, flood illuminator, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, and an IR camera.

Now onto the shooters, this guy has 3 cameras on the rear and a larger LED flash on board.  FYI: the Leica partnership is still present here as well.  This has a 40MP primary sensor, 20MP secondary wide-angle lens, and a 8MP telephoto lens w/ 3x zoom.  Huawei hopes these will capture low-light photos even better while utilizing Super HDR technology + AI.  The 24MP front-facing camera offers 3D Live Emoji to react w/ your facial expressions as well.

Other than having a massive battery inside, Huawei is making use of it w/ their reverse wireless charging feature.  You’ll be able to use the Mate 20 Pro to wireless charge other Qi-enabled devices.  They don’t even have to touch to charge either.  Very interesting.

No word on when this will makes it way to the US.  After using the Mate 10 Pro, I’m savoring to get my hands on this one.

What do you think about the Mate 20 Pro now that its here?
