Ahead of Samsung’s unveiling at their Developer Conference, Google had their own conference for devs today as well w/ some welcoming news.  They announced Android support for what they’re calling ‘foldables’.   This support means more than just a few Android OEMs are making one.

Google’s Dave Burke described Foldables as a phone & tablet in one as Android will offer ‘Screen Continuity’ so your experience will be native & seamless no matter how your device is folded (big or smaller screens).  This would help be a foundation for how software behaves on different kinds of folding devices.

Also, this would mean devs wouldn’t have to do too much to get their apps ready the foldables.  Burke & his team at Google are working w/ several manufacturers including Samsung who’s folding device will be out early next year.

Good to hear Google is ready for the new wave on their part.  Who’s interested in the new folding devices set to be in our faces next year?
