Well, looks like another app favorite is joining the app graveyard over at Google. Based on a report from the folks over at 9to5Google, Google Hangouts is coming to an end in 2020.
So Google Hangouts has been my personal & group chat app of choice since its inception back in 2013 and got a my wife & colleagues to come over to it. We kind of knew it was coming as they already deaded SMS texting, new features, & new updates over the years. The funny thing about it is that Hangouts replacement Allo came and went within a ridiculous short period of time.
Looks like I’ll have to move & convert elsewhere. I guess I’ll have to see what Hangouts Chat or Slack feels like for the next move.
Anyone still using Hangouts? And if you are, what chat app are you moving to?
