This morning Google announced some welcome changes to their Project Fi MVNO.   So now its opened up to more Android smartphones and iPhones as well as a rebrand as it will now be called Google Fi.  This was rumored to happen as of there being rumblings about it a few days ago.

So if you’ve never heard of Fi before, it is Google’s MVNO that utilizes Sprint, T-Mobile, US Cellular, & public Wi-Fi hotspots to handle your network.  You’ll be able to switch between networks as well as Wi-Fi + cellular.  Depending on where area you live in, that can be good or bad.

They offer affordable plans w/ unlimited talk & text w/ data starting at $20 per line and $10 per GB of data per month.  Anything over 6GB of data is free but subject to throttling via their Bill Protection feature.  You can see if your current device will work on Google Fi here.

So who’s looking to bring their iPhone or other Android devices of to Fi?
