Apple’s AirPower dual wireless charger is still MIA but in the meantime, there are a few alternatives you can pick up instead of waiting. The Nimble Wireless Dual Pad is definitely one of them. And w/ this being a Nimble product, this maintains the eco-friendly angle w/ sustainable materials.
The Dual Pad is covered in a fabric weave comprised of a blend of organic hemp & recycled plastic bottles. Still, w/ the plastic-free packaging as their boxes are made of 100% recycled scrap paper w/o inks or dyes involved in a compostable package. Definitely maintaining the same energy across all of their products.
The Dual Pad offers a single USB-C port w/ 1 small indicator light to let you know if things are charging or not. It supports 10-watt fast wireless charging for Samsung devices and 7.5-watt charging for iPhones. Every other device will default to a slower 5-watt charging.
This does support 10-watt across both pads but if you want to achieve fast wireless charging on both, you’ll only get 5-watt per pad, unfortunately. If there was a downside about the Dual Pad, this is it. So using it on my Pixel 3 gives me slow charging (that is Google’s fault though) as my V40 ThinQ or Note 9 will charge a bit faster and will be full in around 3 or so hours from being empty or low.
An eco-friendly way to wirelessly charge 2 devices fast - but not that fastest.
So like the 8-day portable charger, we reviewed last week from Nimble, the Wireless Dual Pad is a great addition to your home where you and a loved one can charge your phones at the same time. You got a fast wireless charging pad that can charge one device pretty fast & 2 devices at a decent speed w/ good thermal management to charge safely w/o a fan present – all in an eco-friendly body/package.
At the time of writing this review, the Wireless Dual Pad is currently on sale for only $32 which is great. Samsung charges double that for their Wireless Charging Duo on sale. However, there are other companies on Amazon who make faster wireless charging pads for a bit less. So depending on what phones you have, this can be a great way to charge 2 devices at once as some devices may charge slower than others.
