To combat the slight price hike from Netflix, Hulu wants to take advantage of this moment and announce a price cut to their base subscription plan.  This will make the service more affordable for those of you who’ve ever been curious or on the fence about it.

So the base plan used to cost $8 per month and will go down to $6 per month.  The new pricing takes effect on February 26th.  Keep in mind, that this is the base plan w/ ads & no Live TV.  If you’re seeking or already paying for that option, that will remain the same at $12 per month.  However, the Hulu + Live TV package goes up by $5 and will cost you $45 per month.  So all of the news ain’t great.

I am a Hulu subscriber & long-time cord cutter so this is great news for me to help offset the new Netflix pricing.  We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, the new streaming wars are about to kick off w/ Disney+, AT&T/Warner, and other streaming services coming out soon.  So expect to pay what you used to pay for cable after a while.  You’ve been warned.
