Along w/ the Google Assistant takeover, the AI feature is coming to Google Maps. Sounds interesting but you might ponder: What will the Assistant bring on top all that I can already do in Maps? Actually even more.
The new update will allow you to:
- Share your ETA w/ friends via text as the Assistant will calculate your arrival via Maps info
- Reply to messages via voice to apps like Android Messages, Hangouts, WhatsApp, Messenger, Telegram, Viber, & SMS
- Control the audio of your music or podcasts to combat wind/road noise
- Look for gas, food, or other points of interest along your route via voice
- Add a stop on your route.
The update is rolling out today for both Android & iOS. So instead of the atypical next few weeks so you should be able to access the new treats sooner rather than later.
