On Friday, the folks over at The Verge got tipped off about something new brewing over Verizon.  Apparently, they’re getting into the gaming industry w/ a new service called Verizon Gaming.  Definitely not thinking of VZ when it comes to gaming but I’ll give it a shot.  Let dive into some of the details.

So it will be a cloud-based service utilizing their 5G network to really offer the ideal speeds & little latency to go along w/ it.  The company has been working on it for a little bit as their at the Q/A phase.  They’re seeking testers for the service that will grant you a free NVIDIA Shield TV w/ 135 games, Xbox controller, & a $150 Amazon gift card. There are leaked screenshots showing off popular titles like Fortnite, God of War, Detroit Become Human, Destiny 2, & Red Dead Redemption to name a few.

Since this is 5G-based service, this will probably act as a draw to get people to add or switch over to it.  We mentioned testing on a Shield so we know Android support should be present at launch.  Just curious if it will add Apple TV support as that has some gaming capabilities on the iOS side of things.

So what do you think of VZ’s gaming service and would you try it -price depending?
